To get things started, you will need to complete your Level 2 Course. This qualification allows you to work as a Gym Instructor and is the first stepping stone to becoming a qualified personal trainer.
The Level 2 is a pre-requisite to the Level 3. This basically means you’ll need to complete both if you are looking to become a PT. The 2 qualifications paired together are often called the personal training diploma course.
The Level 2 fitness instructing qualification allows you to get your foot in the door at a local gym. You can begin some paid shifts working as a fitness instructor. Job responsibilities will include giving inductions, showing people around the facility, writing basic customer programmes, developing training experience, and ensuring that members are safe and well-looked.
This is a great starting point, and it provides valuable experience in talking to customers, building rapport, and gaining experience as a fitness professional.
Once you’ve passed this entry-level qualification, you can become a level 3 personal trainer. The Level 3 PT course allows you to run face-to-face PT sessions with your clients.
Our personal trainer course is accredited by ActiveIQ and recognised by CIMSPA, meaning it is internationally recognised and can be used worldwide.
Level 3 covers a variety of units that will help prepare you for life in the industry, including anatomy and physiology, nutrition, advanced training techniques, client programming, performing client consultations, helping clients create successful behavioural changes, and much more.
Our face-to-face workshops are held in a private gym called SouthCoast Powerhouse, which has a thriving community of members and a group of well-respected fitness professionals.
